While Priya Ahluwalia, Supriya Lele, Kaushik Velendra, and Ashish Gupta are known as the brand who have been helping to change the stereotypes of ‘Indian dress’, it’s time for us to acknowledge the young, India-based designers doing so, too. AKHL Studio, Bloni, Bodice and Āroka are proving how much more to the country’s fashion culture there is than sari-draped clichés.
